Sunset Goes Green!

Sunset Luxury Limousine along with Lincoln College of Technology converted a diesel party bus into a vehicle that runs on vegetable oil as an alternative fuel source that was used at the Democratic National Convention.

To help assist with the "Green" theme of the Democratic National Convention, Lincoln College of Technology provided one of their top diesel instructors, facilities and equipment to help convert a diesel party bus into a vehicle that runs on vegetable oil.

In an effort to give back to the Colorado community, the convention organizers of the Democratic National Convention are focusing the four-day convention on several areas including "greening" and environmental projects.

As a marketing/sales consultant for Sunset Limousine and a student enrolled in the Automotive Technology program at Lincoln College of Technology, Kevin Harrold approached the school to see if they would be interested in turning a concept into a reality. Robert Lantzy, Executive Director of Lincoln College of Technology Denver campus said, "We are pleased to take part in this endeavor as we want to be on the forefront of new automotive and diesel technology which we can teach our students."

With careful planning and coordination, the installation of the vegetable oil fuel system took place at Lincoln College of Technology's Denver campus. Mike Slicker, Lincoln College of Technology ASE Certified Instructor, Kevin Harrold, Sunset Luxury Limousines, and Dino Fuel Alternatives transformed a 20-24 passenger party bus to an alternative fuel source which will be used to shuttle attendees to and from the Democratic National Convention. Darren Weidenhamer, owner of Sunset Limousine said, "I am delighted that we were able to convert one of our vehicles to an alternative fuel source to help support the theme of the convention."

Individuals being shuttled will be able to experience first hand a vehicle that runs on an alternative energy source. According to Jason Crawford, Chief Executive Officer of Dino Fuel Alternatives, "fuel costs continue to escalate and alternative fuel systems save money and the environment."
